The last round of the Le Mans Series, the Autosport 1000km race, will take place in Silverstone. The fifth round of the LMS will be held on Sunday 13th September 2009 on the BRDC facilities, the birthplace of modern motor racing, the centrepiece of all British circuits, on one of the traditionally well known circuits in the world.

Pierre Kaffer and the Hankook Team Farnbacher are going to Silverstone highly motivated to collect the last points for this LMS season. With the information from the last race at the Nürburgring where the team finished fourth with the F430 the team eyes with the podium. In the overall standing of the GT2 championship the team around Pierre Kaffer and Alan Simonsen holds fifth place, a position which nobody thought of for the "new team" at the beginning of the season. The solid headstone for the upcoming years was laid by a brilliant team performance, great drivers and constantly further development.

Pierre before his departure to England: "I am looking forward to the "home of british racing"! It is always something special to enter a race in Silverstone because the circuit has very extraordinary sectors like Copse Corner for example. The weather reminds me often of my home, the Eifel area with the Nürburgring - unpredictable, changeable and it rains very often. The first part of the 5.141km track will be ideal for the Ferrari but the long straights will make our life difficult. We will also collect very important informations at this race regarding the tyres and their development for next season.

This is my last European race for this season because after that there are only the last two rounds of the ALMS left for me, Road Atlanta and Laguna Seca."

The race will be shown on Eurosport International (Cable & Satellite) partly live: 13/09/2009 :12:30pm - 13:25pm / 17:45pm - 18:30pm, Highlights will be shown on 15/09/2009 23:45pm - 00:15am. The whole race can be followed up on : www.lemans-serie.com, Live Timing.
